Foot pain

Our feet have to endure a lot throughout our lives. With every step, the full body weight is supported by the feet. It is therefore not surprising that foot pain sometimes occurs.

Anatomy of the foot

The foot is a complex composition of many bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. There are 26 bones in the foot that together form 33 joints. In addition, there are 19 muscles and tendons and no fewer than 107 different ligaments that hold the foot together. Together they ensure that we can move forward.

Symptoms
Because the foot consists of so many parts, many problems can occur that cause foot pain. For example, a fracture can occur in one (één) of the bones or the big toe can grow crooked, resulting in a hallux valgus. A pinched nerve can also cause foot pain.

Check your foot symptoms

Foot pain can have many causes. To investigate where the symptoms come from, the online physical therapy check has been developed. Here you can find out the possible cause of your foot pain. Indicate where you have pain and then answer a number of questions about how these symptoms arose and what your limitations are. Sometimes you will also be asked to do a few small tests.

Afterwards you will receive an overview of conditions that closely match your symptoms. You can then read more information about these and make a direct appointment with a physical therapist.
